Veritas Villages are built as Bitcoin circular economies. We accept Bitcoin for homesite and home purchases, and we require all commercial entities in Veritas Villages to accept Bitcoin, along with whatever other currencies they choose to accept. Our employees earn at least part of their salary in Bitcoin, we hold a significant portion of our assets in Bitcoin, and we even mine Bitcoin with our excess solar-generated power.

Instead of a traditional HOA board, Veritas Villages use an online governance system in which every resident votes on community proposals. Voting is quadratic: each resident receives an allotment of voting tokens, and casting additional votes on the same proposal costs progressively more (N votes cost N² tokens), so residents can show how strongly they feel about an issue without letting any one voice dominate. Residents can vote For, Against or Abstain.
Proposals, votes and token allocations are recorded in a tamper-evident audit ledger. Each entry is cryptographically linked (SHA-256 hash-chained) to the one before it, so any after-the-fact change to the record can be detected and results can be verified.
The system also includes a three-tier dispute resolution framework (direct resolution, mediation, then arbitration) with Bitcoin escrow available for disputes involving payments.
